We all have them: Places We LOVE to go.
When I was a kid, it was Disney World/ or Disneyland. And also, Gymnastics Studios (I LOVED the trampoline!!).
Recently I've been having these dreams about hot tubs. It's a beautiful, exciting, wonderful dream. Basically, there's always some kind of "trap" door that leads to 5 big, beautiful hot tubs. And then I know, I am HOME.
One of my Personal "Meccas" is Harbin Hot Springs in Northern California. I also LOVE The Kiva (another spa) in Santa Cruz.
Another absolute "Mecca" of mine is an event called Ecstatic Dance. I used to go to the one in Oakland, CA, at the Sweets Ballroom, with 300+ people attending on a Wednesday night.
Basically, it's a giant dance party, where everyone is barefoot, there are massage therapists + raw/ healthy food vendors, + an amazing DJ. To me, Ecstatic Dance is like a grown up version of Disneyland: a place where I get to be free, unleash, + let it all go.
I've had the absolute privilege + honor of being part of the first ever Ecstatic Dance LA, as the Raw Food Vendor during the Dance (+ helping spread the word too! ;)).
This past weekend, I vended Hot Love Chocolate Truffles, along with savory food, smoothies, + more, in an amazing space in the Westwood neighborhood of LA.
And I'll be there every month from now on. (It's always the first Sunday of the month.)
... In other news, after years of living + working in what would be considered "Meccas" (Retreat Center in Western Massachusetts, Holistic Bed & Breakfast in Hawaii, etc etc), I am creating my own "Mecca" for YOU to come + enjoy.
