In August, I began working as a Field Organizer for the Stacey Abrams campaign in Georgia (and today is the runoff election for Secretary of State, for those local to ATL! ;))
I have a vision of a world where Black women are in political leadership positions, and I felt called to the campaign from far away in Los Angeles!
I visited Stacey's website to learn about volunteering, and ended up applying, being interviewed + hired to live and work in rural Georgia, working 70 days in a row, 70-80 hour weeks, for the cause! (An incredibly strengthening experience!)
My county and city were mentioned by Oprah when she came to Atlanta to campaign! (I/ we basically rocked it!)
